Anaemia is a big challenge in India. The last two decades witnessed 20 per cent increase in the cases of Anaemia prevalent among Indian women of reproductive age. According to a data, about 58.6% of children, 53.2% of non-pregnant women and 50.4% of pregnant women were found to be anaemic. Iron deficiency is the foremost cause followed by deficiencies in Vitamin A, Vitamin B12 and folate for this. The disease results in stress, fatigue and diminished productivity. In the case of chronic Anaemia, a person can die due to cardiac failure. However, Anaemia can be treated inexpensively with iron supplements and by including proper diet rich with iron and vitamins. DAF is spreading awareness on this and also distributing free iron tablets to needy women through its several health camps.
Apart from such health camps, DAF also organises free dental check-up camps in Delhi NCR, Haryana for those who cannot afford treatments. Our foundation also conducts cancer awareness camps where poor people receive free and best healthcare screening and counselling facilities.
