According to an estimate, more than 12,000 persons die every day all over India due to lack of immediate availability of blood. Various myths related to blood donation have been one of the reasons for people’s unwillingness towards this. Lack of awareness too has been another major factor behind this extreme blood shortage in hospitals. Understanding the need of the hour, hospitals and civil society groups run regular blood donation drives across India. Dr. Archika Foundation is also playing its part in this mission by regularly organising blood donation camps and awareness drives. We have also collaborated with various blood banks.

  • We send buses to remote areas to help cancer patients and children affected with Haemoglobinopathies (thalassemia and sickle cell disease) for blood transfusion.
  • We also conduct screening programs, information distribution and awareness activities to help prevent the threat.
  • In Hyderabad’s blood donation camp more than 300 people donated blood and approximately 300 unit of blood was collected.
  • Another camp was organised in Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar to help the cancer and thalassemic patients.
