On the day for the person with disabilities 3rd December. International annual observance of the International day of disabled persons was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General assembly resolution 47/3. Understanding the disabilities issue and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and

Well-being of persons with disabilities.

It’s appreciable the world leaders recognized this matter but as our Dr.Archika Foundation have another face on this issue. EU Commissioner Thyssen considers this issue as the major social problem.

Let us name first of all what is it mean by disability? Disability is an umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions.

As impairments is a problem in body functions or structure, an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in involvement in life and situations.

Disability is not just a health problem;

It is complex phenomenon reflecting the interaction between features of a person’s body and features of the society where he/she lives.

Disable persons are not unknown to our ancient society. We have so many examples of this kind of personalities who achieved remarkable status in their respective field. If one is disabled ( According to western ideology ) or challenged with any body part. I believe that he/she is blessed with extra power on another side.

Here I would like to recall MUNI ASHTAVKRA. No doubt as per present definitions of the materialistic world. He can be marked as disabling but Ashtavkra Geeta or replies sang by himself to Raja Janak is a landmark of philosophy and spirituality.

Another bright example is KALIDAS from our epic books. He can also be marked as mantel discarded in his early life. Later is honored as the first poet of the universe.

Disabilities are neither matter of sin nor shame.

So any disable person, any special child or his/her parents are not a subject for sympathy need of proper guidance to reshape their ability on another side. Here we can recall a Hindi film of Amir Khan.

Dr. Archika foundation always stands with society and humanity apart from religion, race or cast.

In this regard with the inspiration of Dr.Archika Didi, we organize so many charity events for needy persons. One of the objectives of Dr. Archika Foundation is to provide health care to the underprivileged children and help them with nurturing and nourishing.

Again we must remember as if we are blessed with perfect body and brain, it’s our duty to repay her thanks, standing with persons and families called as DISABLE
